Ainsworth Mohammed is often described as the Chief Executive Officer of Exodus Steel Orchestra. His love and passion for Steelband music started at the age of 8. He and his three brothers joined the Troubadours Steel Orchestra which was located next door to their home in Freeling Street, Tunapuna. Ainsworth learnt most of his foundational management skills from his brother Amin who started Exodus in 1981. Ainsworth took over the management of the orchestra when his brother departed from our world in 1999. Under his leadership, Exodus won three National Panorama Championships, three National Steelband Music Festival Championships, two World Steelband Music Festival Championships, a Caribbean Panorama Championship held in Grenada, and was awarded the Chaconia Gold Medal in 2003. In 2007, Ainsworth was the coordinator of the three-hundred-member steel orchestra performance for the ICC Cricket World Cup Tournament Closing Presentation Ceremony in Barbados. He places great emphasis on his global vision for the Steelband, that it must be known, recognized, and celebrated in all corners of the world. In fact, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Exodus had performances lined up for 2020 in the Vatican, China, Japan, and Miami Carnival.
